Retired MLB player opens Sports Complex

John Barnes, who started in the Red Sox minor league system, played parts of two seasons as an outfielder for the Minnesota Twins in 2000 and 2001. He was picked up off waivers from the Colorado Rockies in 2002 and subsequently played for affiliated minor league teams for the Pittsburgh Pirates Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves, before returning to pitch as a knuckleball pitcher for the Red Sox' Triple-A affiliate in Pawtucket.

The sports enhancement program will be available for athletes to improve their skills and athleticism for all sports.
